Zetec to Feature the Newest Eddy Current and Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology at Materials Testing 2019

Zetec will showcase its most advanced eddy current and phased array UT technology at Materials Testing 2019, a leading international exhibition for the NDT, condition monitoring, and quality testing industries, from Sept. 3-5 in Telford, UK.

Among the innovative products on display at Zetec’s booth (#C7):

The updated MIZ-21C handheld eddy current instrument with surface array capabilities. Recently updated, the Zetec MIZ-21C is now a sealed unit with increased operating temperature range, increased internal memory storage, off-the-shelf battery charging, and more. The MIZ-21C’s ergonomic design, long battery life, and intuitive touchscreen interface mean you can inspect more areas faster than ever without fatigue. The surface array solution can reduce inspection time by up to 95% compared to traditional handheld pencil probes. The MIZ-21C’s true portability lets you bring the power of surface array to places it has never been before.

The new Surf-X family of flexible eddy current array probes. This new probe family offers breakthrough inspection efficiencies. Featuring a highly flexible design with interchangeable multiple coil sets, users have everything they need to change a probe coil set in minutes, enabling the probe to easily adapt to different materials and surface geometries. The Surf-X array probe’s electronics module connector and detachable encoder can be used interchangeably across different coil sets for significant cost savings. With subsequent Surf-X array coil set purchases, the module and encoder can be re-used, saving time and money.

A Surf-X array probe is a fast, accurate, chemical-free alternative to penetrant testing (PT) that, when used with the Zetec MIZ-21C handheld eddy current instrument, is one of the most cost-effective portable surface array solutions on the market.

The TOPAZ family of phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) devices including TOPAZ64, a fully integrated, portable 32 or 64-channel PAUT instrument with advanced full matrix capture (FMC) and total focusing method (TFM) capabilities. Driven by Zetec’s UltraVision Touch software, TOPAZ64 delivers the highest acquisition frequency in its class, supports 2D matrix arrays in Pulse/Echo or Pitch/Catch modes, and is capable of dual side weld inspections using two probes at the same time.

Materials Testing takes place once every two years and is held in conjunction with the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) annual conference.
