GRAYLOC Volumetric Inspection System (GRAVIS)

Automated GRAVIS

Zetec’s GRAVIS is a fully automated dual-axis scanner for inspecting the weld area adjoining the Grayloc hub and feeder tube.  The scanner features two interchangeable heads to permit crack detection or wall thickness measurements with thickness-measurement head, the system can generate complete wall thinning map adjacent to the weld.  When using the crack-detection head, the system can detect and size the length of circumferential OD- and ID-connected cracks.

Manual GRAVIS

Zetec’s Manual GRAVIS is a dedicated tool allowing ultrasonic thickness measurement close to the Grayloc weld and Pipe-to-Pipe weld in all CANDU nuclear power plant configurations.  This scanner is operated manually in situ or on the shop floor. The scanner is adapted to work on 2.0”, 2.5” and 2.5” oversize NPS pipes.  Its inspection head can also be connected to the fully automated GRAVIS scanner.
