In addition to a graphical representation of the defined probe, wedge, and specimen, it also provides detailed numerical information for each of the created delay laws: position of beam exit point and focal point, beam refracted angle, and skew angle.   Zetec recently released version 1.2R1 of the Zetec Advanced Phased Array Calculator. In addition to the powerful tools for focal law generation and visualization already offered in previous versions, the version 1.2R1 has the following exciting new features: Acoustic beam simulation: computation, visualization, storage and quantitative characterization     of acoustic fields of various array probe types in fl at and cylindrical components Support of Overlay files in the visualization of probe ray-tracing and acoustic fields (*.DXF, *.RSP) Support for generation and visualization of focal law files for phased array Tandem configurations   The efficient implementation of advanced phased array methods requires more than just data acquisition equipment and data analysis software. NDE vendors, utilities and regulators need to design and justify examination procedures ahead of time, and Zetec will continue to develop adequate software products to support that need.   Version 1.2R1 introduces a powerful acoustic beam simulation tool that is also very accessible through a simple and user-friendly interface.
