MIZ®-80iD
Zetec’s MIZ®-80iD represents a break-through in technology to provide highly efficient and cost effective eddy current inspections of
steam generator and condenser tubing in nuclear and conventional power plants. It combines a powerful eddy current instrument plus controllers for
MRPC® probes, probe driver, and power supplies into one compact modular package.
Together these modules maintain nearly the same footprint as the widely-used Zetec 10D Probe Pusher.
Each module is lightweight, easy to connect, and configurable in either left or right hand setups.
When left and right units are combined, the MIZ-80iD supports dual probe acquisition. One operator can easily install and remove the entire system.
MIZ-80iD electronics are neatly packaged into the probe pusher drive head and takeup reel modules.
A single Ethernet connection from the host acquisition computer operating with Eddynet® Suite software provides all of the control
communication to the entire MIZ-80iD system.
Zetec's intelligent "hot shoe" connections automatically recognize configuration and operation parameters for correct setups.
The integrated acquisition instrument includes advanced logic circuitry that eliminates the need for probe extensions, probe adapters, analog slip rings,
and reference probes. Integration simplifies setup as well as improves data quality and noise immunity. Cabling connections require one air line, one Ethernet cable,
and two AC cables—a significant cable reduction compared to other systems.
New technology is fully supported for high-resolution data acquisition with Zetec’s X-Probe® and industry-standard software, EddynetSuite.
Integral MRPC controller supports standard and high speed MRPC for brushed and brushless MRPCs.
The MIZ-80iD enclosure is sealed to IP65 to control dust and water ingress. Its smooth surfaces are easy to wipe down for decontamination.
Based on the well-proven 10D pusher, the MIZ-80iD probe drive head has built-in traction control,
integral encoder and universal wheel fenders for left and right hand operation.
An integrated servo motor handles probe delivery while an independent motor on the takeup reel module eliminates the need for a mechanical
clutch improving system reliability and simplifying maintenance.
