Formal training courses are held at the Zetec Training Center in Snoqualmie, Washington. The same course formats may also be presented at your facility. The following are the descriptions of the courses which we offer.

Eddy Current Inspection Level I/ETS-100 (40 hours)

This comprehensive course will familiarize students with the theory and practical applications of eddy current inspection techniques and data acquisition. It is designed in response to ASNT’s SNT-TC-1A guidelines and ATA 105/FAR 147 requirements. Students learn inspection techniques for steam generator and heat exchanger tubing or in all types of surface EC inspection. Various equipment and sensing elements are discussed. Primary emphasis is on equipment function and operation. This course includes 16 classroom hours and 24 hours of “hands-on” practical training. Prerequisite: High school degree or instructor’s permission.

ET Level II/ETS-200 (40 hours)

An advanced course on the eddy current testing of steam generator and heat exchanger tubing or aircraft structures. It follows ASNT SNT-TC-1A guidelines and ATA 105/FAR 147 requirements. Emphasis is on advanced single- and multi-frequency eddy current techniques. Basic data evaluation is covered. Students will learn fundamentals of establishing test parameters, as well as organization and reporting test results. This course includes 24 classroom hours and 16 hours of practical “hands-on” training. Prerequisite: Completion of ET Level I or equivalent, or instructor’s permission.

ET Data Analysis IIA/ETS-300 (80 hours)

Data Analysis of EC Inspection Results of Non-ferromagnetic Tubing, Level IIA
This advanced course in eddy current signal interpretation meets the requirements of ASME Section XI “Personnel Requirements” and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 97-06. All data interpretation is performed on advanced computer-based systems. Instruction includes 16 hours of classroom theory and 40 hours of practical “hands-on” training. Maximum time allowed for the practical examination is 24 hours. Prerequisite: Completion of ETS-200 or equivalent and at least one year experience as a Level II Inspector, or instructor’s permission.

ET Level III/ETS-400 (80 hours)

This course follows the guidelines established by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing under SNT-TC-1A and CP-189. Instruction will be given in personnel training and certification, materials technology, a refresher in other NDE methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, & LT), advanced eddy current theory, and codes and standards applicable to inspection of heat exchanger and steam generator tubing. Prerequisite: Completion of ETS-200 and/or ETS-300, or equivalents, or instructor’s permission.

QDA (80 hours minimum)

Qualified Data Analyst per EPRI S/G Guidelines, Appendix G, Level IIA/QDA *
This specialized Steam Generator training and testing covers the same materials as ETS-300 but is specific to PWR Steam Generator inspection data. All data interpretation is performed on advanced computer-based systems. Both the written and practical examinations are created and graded using dedicated software. Instruction includes 40 hours of classroom theory and practical “hands-on” training: 40 hours are required for the EC data evaluation. Prerequisite: Completion of ETS-300 or equivalent and at least one year experience as a Level IIA Inspector, or instructor’s permission. *May require additional ETS-300 work before and after established course dates to meet the minimum course criteria.

RevospECT Dashboard Operator (8 hours)

This course provides the qualified ET data analyst with instruction on the setup and operation of the RevospECT system and operation of the dashboard controls.  This course is designed for students that are familiar with the manual analysis process, Eddynet AN (PC) software, and concepts of automated analysis. Typical course is 8 hours duration including classroom instruction and practical “hands-on” training. Prerequisite: Qualification/certification as ET Level IIA, ET Level IIA-QDA or ET Level IIIA-QDA data analyst with experience, or instructor’s permission.

RevospECT Configurator (40 hours)

This course provides the qualified ET data analyst with instruction on the concepts, techniques and strategies for construction of RevospECT Configurations. This includes the application and theory of use and manipulation of Zetec Capsule Packages, Gates, Final Analysis, and overview of HDC (auto mode) enabled capsules. Typical course is 40 hours duration including classroom instruction and practical “hands-on” training. (Class size, student qualifications and experience or complexity of desired configurations may increase course length.) Prerequisite: Qualification/certification as ET Level IIA, ET Level IIA-QDA or ET Level IIIA-QDA data analyst with experience, or instructor’s permission
