Zetec continually strives to conduct business in a manner consistent with sound environmental management practices
Zetec fully supports the content and spirit of the European Union environmental legislation:
- Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment" (commonly referred to as WEEE).
- Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" in electrical and electronic equipment (commonly referred to as EU RoHS).
To support our commitment, we have previously retained a Europe-based consultant with a great deal of experience in environmental laws and regulations. The consultant's meticulously researched report confirms that our products may eventually be subject to the EU RoHS requirements under the WEEE directive's Category 9 classification (Monitoring and Control Instruments). We are diligently pursuing EU RoHS compliance even though Category 9 products are currently exempt.
- In addition, we are closely monitoring the RoHS legislation being developed in China and will strive to comply with this legislation as well.
Zetec electronic equipment is manufactured according to high quality standards to ensure safe and reliable operation when used as intended. Due to its nature, some equipment may contain small quantities of substances known to be hazardous to the environment or to human health if released in the environment.
For this reason, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) should never be disposed of in the public waste stream. The "Crossed-Out Waste Bin" (EU) and "Circle-Arrow" (China) labels affixed to this product are reminders to dispose of this "end of life" product in accordance with local environmental regulations.
